While photographing an Osprey at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, I noticed a subtle shift in its posture — its attention pulled elsewhere. Moments later, a Fish Crow burst into the scene from behind, aggressively diving toward the perched raptor. The Osprey quickly abandoned its perch as the crow pressed the attack, and what followed was a brief but intense series of aerial maneuvers. I continued photographing as the interaction unfolded, capturing an unexpected example of mobbing behavior—one species boldly challenging a much larger predator to drive it from the area.
