About the Winter Wren

The Winter Wren is a very small, dark brown songbird with fine barring and an extremely short, upright tail. Often found in dense woodland understory near fallen logs and tangled roots, it moves mouse-like through shadows and leaf litter. Despite its tiny size, it delivers a remarkably long and complex song during breeding season.
